As the summer winds down, are you less and less able to come up with ideas to entertain your elementary school-aged kids and restless (or easily bored) teens?

Let us help with a few suggestions:

Continuing through the month of August the Pasadena Central Library is offering ?Tales and Tunes,? hour-long shows for kids 5 years old and up.

Thursday, August 2nd, storyteller ?Jeff the Great? will present ?crazy tales and wacky fun,? first at 10 a.m. at Central Library?s Donald R. Wright Auditorium and then at 1:30 p.m. at Hill Avenue Branch Library.

For the teens in your life, Bella and Edward will be on the big screen in ?The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1,? on Tuesday, August 7th at 6:30 p.m.

Friday afternoon, have your children choose their favorite toy pet and take them on an outing to ?Sleepover for Stuffed Animals? at the central library.

Friday evening,?Day One Pasadena is hosting ?Loud Teen Dance? with DJ Sidekick Sam who is a Grammy-nominated producer. The dance is open for teenagers 12-18 years old and costs $3 with a flyer, $5 without one.

On August 4th, the Central Library will be hosting a ?Teddy Bear Breakfast,? while on Monday, the 6th, the Hastings branch will have ?Pajama Storytime.?

The Pasadena Humane Society?s volunteers organize ?Barks & Books,? where children 6 years old and older are invited to read a book about dogs to a gentle dog.

Villa Parke Branch Library will offer classic board games for children to play at ?Board Game Mania? on Thursday, August 9th, from 2-3 p.m.

There are numerous children?s programs?almost every day of the week?at most Pasadena library branches.

All events are free. A complete listing can be found at cityofpasadena.net.

Day One Pasadena is located at 175 N. Euclid Ave.
