WORLD NEWS TOMORROW ? BIDJAN, Ivory Coast ? An Ivorian prosecutor said a top member of former President Laurent Gbagbo?s political party was sentenced to six months in prison Friday after being found guilty of disturbing public order.

Laurent Akoun, secretary-general of the Ivorian Popular Front, was arrested Sunday for comments he made about current President Alassane Ouattara. Noel Dje Enrike Yahau said Akoun had publicly called Ouattara ?a liar? and ?accused the president of wanting to kill Gbagbo.?

The comments came not long before a series of seven attacks against Ivory Coast military positions began throughout the country.Government and military officials have accused Gbagbo allies of involvement in the attacks, a charge they have denied. The Gbagbo has protested the mass arrests of its members in the wake of the attacks.
